2019=YOUR MOST ACTIVE YEAR YET
January is the month of goal-setting, especially when it comes to physical activity, so why not let your four-legged friend join in on the fun? Being active with your dog not only promotes their health, but also provides physical and mental stimulation for you. Get ready to hit those goals and make 2019 your most active year yet. Try out some of these activities below with your best friend.
1. Go on a walking tour in your city.
Whether you just moved or have lived in the same city for years, going on a walking tour is the best way to explore while exercising. If you plan your route ahead of time, you can locate all the pet-friendly spots and restaurants for pit stops. Don’t forget to bring water and treats for you and your pup!
2. Go for a run or jog together.
Depending on the breed of dog you have, jogging is a great way to tire out an energetic pup. If you plan to implement more cardio into your routine in the new year, bring them along! They’ll give you the motivation to reach your goals.
3. Spend a day exploring a mountain, beach or lake.
Being active outside doesn’t have to be confined to the spring and summer months! If you live near mountains or hills covered with fresh powder in the winter, this is a great opportunity to burn off some steam. However, once the weather starts to warm up head to the water! Just be mindful of temperatures and what is safe for your pet.
4. Go for a swim.
Swimming is easy on the joints and can burn a ton of calories in a short period of time! If your dog loves the water, let them join you! Just don’t forget that not all dogs are great swimmers, so be sure to bring a dog vest just in case! We love this brand. Â
5. Take a camping trip with friends.
If you have friends with dogs, camping is the perfect opportunity to get outside and be active together! Camping is a year-round activity that can include hikes over various types of terrain, and quality time spent around the campfire. Don’t forget to bring a pack of your dog’s favorite flavor of Triumph dog treats to keep them satisfied and energized on the trails.
